The Trans-Siberian Railway at the Turn of the Century
Dear railway and travel enthusiast! This set of postcards is inspired by the Trans-Siberian Railway — the longest railway line on the planet (9,288 km).
The Trans-Siberian Railway in these photos isn’t quite modern, however; it was captured at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries—between 1999 and 2004, a quarter of a century ago. At the time, the trains were brightly colored, and there were many old wooden stations along the line, especially in the Urals and Siberia. In this postcard series, we have tried to capture this historical period that has now passed into history.
